Here is the summary of different Inventory Types in Deskera system:

1/ Inventory Part: Use this to track
- Items that you buy and stock for a while before reselling.
- Quantity along as valuation will be tracked in various stock reports.
- FIFO/LIFO/Moving Average method will be used to tracked the valuation of the items
2/ Non Inventory Part: Use this to track item that:
- You sell but do not purchase.
- You purchase but do not resell.
- You purchase and resell but do not track quantity in and out as well as valuation.
E.g: Stock buy on behalf of customer, then being sell/install immediately.
3/ Inventory Non-Sale: Use this to track item that:
- You purchase but do not resell.
- Quantity and valuation is tracked
- If qty need to be adjusted down,Stock adjustment can be used.
E.g: Packing tape used for shipping purposes.
4/ Service: For service type of item, no quantity and value will be tracked. This will not appear in the Stock valuation Report
5/ Inventory Assembly:
You can define BOM (Bill of material) consists of Inventory part, Services, Inventory Non-Sale, Non Inventory Part. Qty is tracked and will the valuation will appear in Stock valuation Report
Use Build Assembly function to reduce the Materials and Increase the assembly qty accordingly
E.g: Computer system with components of 2 monitors, 1 keyboard and 1 mouse.
